Zcash Mobile Proof Generation Gets 14x Faster, Cutting Private Transaction Delays
Zakura says new cryptography stack speeds mobile proof generation, reducing private ZEC waits from seconds to under 200 ms.

Zakura, a development team working on Zcash tooling, has introduced a cryptography stack that it says dramatically accelerates mobile proof generation for private transactions. According to the team, the new stack makes proof creation more than 14 times faster on mobile devices.
The speedup addresses one of the most noticeable delays in sending shielded ZEC. Previously, users could wait around three seconds for a mobile proof to be generated; the updated approach reduces that wait to under 200 milliseconds, according to Zakura.
Why it matters
Private transactions on Zcash rely on zero-knowledge proofs, which are computationally heavy. Mobile devices often struggled with proof generation, creating a poor user experience. Faster proof generation could make private payments on Zcash feel as responsive as regular ones.
Zakura did not disclose a timeline for broad release, but the development signals continued work on making Zcash's privacy features more practical for everyday mobile use.
