Ratings methodology
Last updated: June 8, 2026
How CryptoFeeds rates and ranks cryptocurrency exchanges โ transparently and consistently.
How ratings are built
Each exchange receives scores across several weighted categories. Category scores combine into an overall rating from 1 to 5. We re-review providers periodically and when material changes occur (fees, licensing, incidents).
What we assess
- Fees โ spot and futures maker/taker fees, spreads, and withdrawal costs.
- Security & trust โ track record, custody practices, proof-of-reserves, and incident history.
- Liquidity โ trading volume and market depth across major pairs.
- Regulation & availability โ licensing, KYC requirements, and supported regions.
- Assets & products โ number of supported coins and product breadth (spot, futures, staking, earn, etc.).
- User experience โ platform quality, onboarding, funding options, and support.
Data sources
We use a combination of provider-published data, live market data from third parties (e.g. CoinGecko), public regulatory records, and hands-on assessment. Live figures can change; ratings reflect our assessment at the time of review.
Independence
Ratings are independent of any commercial relationship. Affiliate partnerships never affect scores or rankings โ see our disclosure and editorial policy.
