Zcash mobile private transactions get 14x speedup, Zakura says
Zakura says new cryptography stack cuts private ZEC proof generation from seconds to under 200ms.

Privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash could see a major speedup for mobile users sending private transactions. Cryptography firm Zakura claims a new stack reduces mobile proof generation time from around three seconds to under 200 milliseconds, a more than 14-fold improvement.
Zcash private transactions rely on zero-knowledge proofs to hide sender, receiver, and amounts. Generating these proofs on mobile devices has historically been slow, creating a noticeable delay before a transaction is ready to broadcast. Zakura says its new cryptography stack removes one of the biggest bottlenecks for mobile users.
Claim and context
- Proof generation drops from about 3 seconds to under 200 ms
- Speedup of more than 14x on mobile devices
- Zakura says the stack targets private ZEC transactions
The announcement is a claim from Zakura and has not yet been independently verified. If confirmed, the faster proof generation could make private Zcash payments significantly more usable on phones, where long waits have been a known user-experience problem.
