Unitree IPO Surges 600%, Outpacing Crypto Perp Bets
Unitree's first day of trading outpaced the price implied by Hyperliquid premarket perps by 75%.

Chinese robotics company Unitree saw its shares surge as much as 600% during its Shanghai IPO debut, according to trading data cited by CoinDesk. The dramatic move came after cryptocurrency traders had already attempted to price the offering using Hyperliquid perpetual futures.
Ahead of the public listing, traders on Hyperliquid, a crypto derivatives platform, had opened positions on a Unitree perpetual contract that implied a valuation below the actual market open. CoinDesk reported that the first public trade opened roughly 75% above the price implied by the crypto perp.
The gap highlights both the speculative nature of pre-market crypto products and the difficulty of pricing a hot IPO in a restricted primary market. Unitree is known for its humanoid and quadruped robots, and its listing has drawn broad attention from retail and institutional investors alike.
Context
Hyperliquid and similar venues have increasingly offered pre-IPO exposure via perpetual swaps, letting traders bet on upcoming listings ahead of traditional exchanges. These markets can diverge from official open prices due to lower liquidity and differing participant expectations.
