Luke Gromen: Bitcoin's Failure to Break Out Reminiscent of Gold
Macro analyst suggests paper Bitcoin instruments may be absorbing buying pressure, similar to gold derivatives.

In a June 6 interview with Nathalie Brunell, macro analyst Luke Gromen discussed Bitcoin's recent price stagnation, drawing parallels to the gold market. He stated that he has only 'nibbled' on Bitcoin since reducing his position, and has not materially rebuilt it.
Gromen suggested that paper instruments might be suppressing Bitcoin's price, similar to how gold derivatives have historically capped gold's upside. He argued that while spot demand for Bitcoin may be weak, the failure to break decisively higher could be due to synthetic exposure absorbing buying pressure.

The analyst emphasized that such suppression cannot last indefinitely, mirroring his long-held views on gold. He noted that his own position has not been significantly increased, indicating caution despite the long-term outlook.
