Cross River Bank adds RLUSD to core ledger with single-API access for fintechs
The bank says fintechs can process dollars and Ripple's RLUSD through one API, with availability limited to select US states.

Cross River Bank has connected RLUSD, the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Ripple, to its core banking system, according to CryptoSlate. The bank said fintech clients will be able to handle both US dollar payments and RLUSD payments through a single API.
Availability is limited to certain US states, and the report did not specify which ones qualify or when the service could widen. The source also cited a $2.4 billion figure for RLUSD without defining what it measures.
Banking rails for stablecoins
The arrangement puts a regulated stablecoin inside a bank's core ledger rather than only in on-chain wallets, a setup that has grown more common as issuers pursue direct links to payment infrastructure. Cross River is known for providing banking services to fintech firms, which would give those clients one access point for fiat and tokenized dollar transfers.
Whether the integration moves beyond its initial state footprint, and how much RLUSD volume it ultimately carries, is not yet clear. Stablecoin-to-bank links depend on the issuer's reserves and the bank's compliance posture, and state-by-state licensing has constrained similar rollouts.
