Aave Proposes Shutting Down Deployments on Six Blockchains
Governance proposal targets low-revenue chains and retires 50 asset markets.

Aave, a leading decentralized lending protocol, has put forth a governance proposal to shut down its deployments on six blockchains that generate minimal revenue. The chains affected include Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium, and Aptos.
Details of the Proposal
The proposal also calls for retiring 50 asset markets across various other chains. According to the governance forum, deposits on some of these chains have fallen by over 90%, making continued maintenance economically unviable.
The move is part of Aave's ongoing efforts to streamline operations and focus resources on higher-activity networks. The proposal is currently open for community discussion and voting.
Aave has not yet set a timeline for the potential shuttering, but if approved, the affected chains will see their Aave markets frozen and eventually removed.
