Bitcoin's $80,000 rebound meets a $14 billion swing in Binance Tether flows
CryptoSlate reports a $14 billion swing in Tether flows on Binance alongside bitcoin's recovery to $80,000, while cautioning the data tracks treasury movement.

Bitcoin's recovery toward the $80,000 level is being assessed alongside a large shift in stablecoin liquidity on Binance, where Tether flows swung by about $14 billion, according to a CryptoSlate report.
The outlet said the 2026 totals were compiled from activity on Ethereum and Tron, two of the networks where most Tether is issued. On its reading, those figures trace a treasury route rather than establishing that an equivalent amount of cash left crypto markets.
Why stablecoin flow data is hard to read
- Large Tether transfers can reflect internal rebalancing between wallets, exchanges and the issuer rather than fresh buying or selling.
- A movement away from an exchange does not on its own show that funds were converted into fiat currency.
- Liquidity on major trading venues remains a focus for traders around round-number price levels such as $80,000.
Stablecoin flows are commonly used as a rough proxy for available trading liquidity, with exchange balances watched for signs of buying power or caution. The caveat attached to this data is that network-level totals do not always correspond directly to fiat entering or leaving the market.
