FBI used Hamas crypto fundraising systems to seize $560,000, DOJ says
Three warrants in 2025 let US agents seize over $560,000 and track new donations.
US law enforcement disrupted a Hamas-affiliated crypto fundraising operation by taking control of the digital infrastructure used to solicit donations, according to the Department of Justice. Court-authorized warrants executed in 2025 resulted in the seizure of more than $560,000.
The FBI gained access to computer systems that Hamas used to run its crypto donation drives. Once those systems were in government hands, agents were able to receive additional contributions sent by donors and then seize those funds as well, the DOJ said.
